The Queen Movie: Protocols

Today I saw the movie: The Queen. I really liked the movie and it showed (at least to me) that there are some similarities between Colonialising countries and the nations occupied by them.

Though one of the things which really touched me was the protocols thing. A complicated system which gives the monarchy the impression that they are the most respected from the people dealing with them. I don't deny their right though, I just see it from a different scope.

The protocol for me is some kind of rituals performed for a semi-worship for the head of the monarchy. When you talk (pray) to them you must do these certain moves (protocols or rituals) to make them respond to you (accepting prayers). Here the head of the monarchy acts like the same old story. That the King rule by the Divine right. The ideal opposite of democracy. It makes me laugh really. The problem is when the religion is transformed to the same shape of this protocol. When all the fuss is about performing the rituals without a real effect on the life and actions of the human being believing in this religion (like what Moliere criticized for example).
People of the Noble Class always suffered and complained from the coldness in the life when the protocols were perfectly done. They always act for the sake of the system, the dignity and honor and whatever they call. They sacrifice many humane meanings for the sake of superficial surface. It is the same you know. When religion becomes a protocol between Man and God it becomes really worthless. God is not a head of a monarchy. God doesn't need to feel the pride of being respected. God just doesn't need anything of our human feelings of needs.

Though it is different when the low-class people pay respect for their King in their spontaneous way. Why? It is not cold. It is meaningful. It is alive. It is faithful. It is not a protocol. This is why many people in Europe believed in the Divine touch of the King which will heal them of all diseases. Just of the feeling of satisfaction gives them relief. Same as religion when really believed in. Not just performing rituals without faith for the sake of dignity, reputation, etc etc etc...

and...God save the Queen :P.
